Free Online IELTS Review and Training Tips that You Can Do At Home

Thinking of taking the IELTS? Are you up for the challenge?

Well, the IELTS test is one of the English proficiency examinations made available by the IDP and the British Council for non-native speakers of the English language. The IELTS or the International English Language Testing System is a paper-based test that measures the individual’s skills in the four areas – reading, listening, speaking and writing. The IELTS test is said to be harder than the other English competency exams for the speaking section is done in front of a native speaker. This is the reason why an influx of candidates for the IELTS examination has been enrolled in an IELTS review program. IELTS review centers have created programs that are easy and effective which is available in IELTS review center in Manila, Cebu, Davao and other cities in the Philippines. Aside from the training from the IELTS review centers, candidates can also take advantage of the free websites online to practice for the IELTS.

One website that is often visited is at www.ielts.org. This is the official website of the IELTS examination. Furthermore, there are a lot of test samples that candidates can take advantage of. What’s best in this site is that there are sample writing and reading tests for both the Academic and the General Training test. As we all know, the IELTS test has two types – the Academic and the General Training. In addition, the site offers FAQs of candidates and background information about the IELTS examination.

www.candavisa.com is also a free online practice test available for candidates. Simply by clicking on the links will bring you to the sample exams. In the speaking section, you can record your voice while giving a response. Moreover, there are video tutorials that also help the candidates gain confidence in the IELTS speaking section.  There is also a band calculator once you finish doing the mock tests. With this, you have an idea on the most possible score you will be getting in the real examination.

www.takeielts.britishcouncil.org aims to give the candidates information on what the real test feels. Candidates can download the test, answer sheets and even the transcripts and answer keys. Candidates will be able to learn and understand the items that they failed to answer correctly.

Finally, there are some websites where you can download books for the IELTS examination. Just be sure that you have a torrent downloader for these. Some do not include audio transcripts so you have to choose wisely on what to download.

Despite the free websites, it is much better to attend review centers for the IELTS in review centers. They have coaches that will guide and build your confidence to reach success for the IELTS.

  1. The post is fastidious and the point specified is impressive . Thanks for the update .

A mistake most candidates make is to register for the test close to the admission or visa deadline. The downside of this is that if you fail the test, your admission gets cancelled and you lose your registration money. It will be a good idea to take a test date three to six months in advance---that way you will have enough time to prepare and take care of your other course work or studies or office work.
If you are not good in English, take at least three months to coach yourself. Get yourself a good English teacher to coach you or enroll in a coaching institute.
