IELTS and Student Visas

For some students, studying is a pretty boring and tedious load of work. However for some, studying is their driving force towards attaining their goals in life. It is the fuel of their dreams – studying harder. Some students are even diligent that they find universities and colleges abroad wherein they can experience new culture both social and academic. Hence, they start processing their needed requirements for their student visas, and one of them is to get an IELTS certification (International English Language Testing System). There are a lot of universities and colleges abroad that require an IELTS score to their students. What’s more important is that some countries need an IELTS score certificate for processing of student visas.

In Australia, student visa application needs a score of 5 in the IELTS examination. That requirement is only for the processing of the student visa, not to the school the candidate is applying for. Meaning to say, students applying for a certain university abroad should target the university’s set score as universities and colleges’ score requirements are higher than what the Australian Immigration and citizenship requires. Knowing this, the student need not worry getting a student visa as long as they get more than a score of 5 in the IELTS examination.

In Canada, an overall band score of 6.5 is required from students applying for a student visa. Furthermore, the Academic Module should be taken by applicants. This score requirement should be met to be submitted along other requirements for student visa.

In the United Kingdom, an IELTS overall band score of 6 is needed. The IELTS certificate should still be valid as the certificate is valid for only two years.

Each country has different score requirements when processing a student visa. As a requirement, candidates who fail to reach the required scores will not be able to pursue their applications. Hence, it is very important to an IELTS candidate to get the target score and even am higher. That is the reason why students choose to review with coaches and mentors in IELTS review centers.

In IELTS review centers, coaches will be providing different enriching exercises that aim to develop the skills of these individuals. They will be both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated to do better on the reviews. Moreover, with the guidance of these IELTS instructors, the trainees or their candidates understand better the test and have the necessary knowledge through the different experiences they will encounter in reviewing for the IELTS.
