How much do you charge for the IELTS?

It was early this year when I started preparing for my IELTS examination. With some reviewers I bought from the bookstores and printed sheets online, I was fairly doing a good job with my self-review. The problem started when there were puzzling ideas in the reading passage. I was stagnant for days on a question since I was not sure how to answer it. What made me decide to look for an IELTS review center was when I had to deal with speaking and writing sections. No one was literally there for me to rate my performance.

IELTS Review Center

Finding an IELTS review center in Davao was not that easy. I asked for any recommendations from my friends and checked the center right away. The fee for the review is very reasonable. For about PHP 6,500, I was able to enroll in their unlimited review program. This program allowed me to attend classes on different schedules, and the validity of the program was for a year. That was such a huge savings for me. With the amount I paid, I was able to attend speaking coaching and writing one-on-one classes that really helped me become better in my essays.

I was amazed at how meticulous my instructors were when giving feedback in both my speaking and writing tests. They were very detailed, and they even pointed out minor mistakes I had that were just careless mistakes I made during the practices. Their advice and comments were really valuable as it led me to creating better responses.

After four months of reviewing, I registered for the examination. The regular IELTS, of which I took, cost me about PHP 9,400 while the IELTS UKVI costs about PHP 13,900. Luckily, my application was for Canada; thus, I needed not to pay that much. Fortunately, I was able to hit my target score for my application. The IELTS review center in Davao did so much work on my skills that it became possible for me to pass.

For other students who are going to take the IELTS, help from an IELTS review center is really needed. Also, here are some things that you should be reminded when you are reviewing with an IELTS center.

•    Come to class on time. There is a lot of valuable learnings from discussions that you should not miss.

•    Take notes on every discussion. Not everything the instructors say are all written on their presentation slides. It is important to listen and write down important ideas that they share while they are explaining in class.

•    Never miss a speaking mock exam. Speaking mock exams is supposed to help students build good English speaking skills. Also, it is a good exercise to develop confidence and mastery with the language.

•    Attend weekly mock tests. These mock tests are used to gauge one’s readiness for the examination. Also, through this, the instructors can point out the students’ strengths and weaknesses in the IELTS course.

An IELTS review center is the only thing I can think of that can best deliver quality training and fun in learning IELTS.
