What is the IELTS Life Skills Test?

The IELTS Life Skills test is for people who need to prove their English speaking and listening skills at three different levels—A1, A2, or B1—of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This test is for individuals who need to prove their English speaking and listening skills to complete their application to UK Visas and Immigration for an extension to family, spouse, or partner visa. This level assesses test-takers' ability to listen and respond to spoken language, comprehend single-step instructions, communicate basic information, feelings, or opinions, and talk with one or more people about familiar topics. Tasks may include:

o   comparing;
o   prioritizing;
o   planning;
o   deciding; and
o   persuading, among others.

     ·         IELTS Life Skills B1
This exam is designed for test-takers who need to show their English speaking and listening skills to complete their application to UK Visas and Immigration for citizenship. This level assesses test-takers’ ability to listen and respond to spoken language, follow straightforward explanations and instructions, communicate information using appropriate formal language style, and share their ideas about familiar topics to one or more people. Tasks may include:

o   comparing;
o   planning;
o   persuading;
o   narrating; and
o   expressing possibilities, among others.
